The Feature of Natural Gas Ball Valves

1. For natural gas ball valve, conductive springs are set between the ball and the stem, and between the stem and the valve body to form electrostatic channels, thus achieving the purpose of removing static electricity and avoiding igniting flammable medium by electrostatic ignition to ensure system security. In case of fire, the soft seal ring such as PTFE O-rings being burned, the ball valve can still operate reliably and has good sealing to prevent the spread of fire. The special ball valve designed for pipeline transporting gas and liquefied gas is equipped with anti-static and fireproof installations.

2. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), used as the seal material for the natural gas ball valve, has good lubricity and elasticity, small coefficients of friction with the ball and long service life.

3. The ball valve for natural gas can be manually operated, driven by worm gears or equipped with pneumatic or electric (explosion-proof) actuators to realize remote automatic control so that it can meet the use requirements under various working conditions.

4. Ensure that the ball valve for gas will not leak. Most natural gas pipeline networks are built in the suburb of the city, and their operation and management are different from those of pipes or other equipment in ordinary factories, for workers in ordinary factories often operate, maintain and inspect the equipment. Generally, the urban natural gas pipeline is over 100 kilometers long, so it can only be patrolled and inspected regularly. Moreover, sometimes pipelines need to pass through areas with complicated conditions, and medium leakage may bring serious fire accidents. For pipelines close to cities, it is particularly important to prevent leakage of valves. The leakage requirements of natural gas valves are very strict. Ordinarily, for buried and important valves, fully welded structures are used. In order to ensure the sealing performance of pipeline valves, the sealing pairs are required to have excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance, self-lubrication and elasticity. In recent years, with the development of polymer materials, there is a wide range of sealing materials for pipeline valves, such as polytetrafluoroethylene, nylon and special synthetic rubber.
